Opportunities abound

As I write this, I am preparing for an art show as a vendor/artist. Thinking about my last 2 years of attending the same festival, I am always amazed at the opportunities that are created, whether for my art or even for voiceover opportunities.

For instance, last year I made a few contacts with authors, and just by chatting with them and letting it be known that I was also a voiceover artist, I was able to take an author as a client and voice 2 short novels for him, with a third still planned.

Last year, I also chatted with a real estate vendor that was looking for additional ways to offer "gifts" to new home owners. This resulted in me giving a presentation which included a custom painting I printed of a new home, along with a voiceover of the same property in the chance they may might be interested.

The point here is that opportunities abound, some just happen, some you may have to search a little deeper, but they are there nonetheless.

Another idea that keeps popping up is a way to combine my art with my voiceover business by launching a podcast about creativity. This has been brewing and will one day come to fruition as I learn new podcasting skills...
