Thanks so much for visiting!
I started my voice over journey about 3 years ago with a recording studio out of Albany, NY called Voice Coaches, to start learning the art of the voice over business. What a great studio to work with that had also done work with Disney, Netflix, HBO, and Lifetime…to name a few. And what an incredible staff, with top notch voice over coaches to help me create my first demo. My creative self was in heaven!
Along with being a voice actor, I am also a published author, oil painting artist, former skydiver, an avid hiker and fly fisherman. I love tying my own flies. There is nothing like wading a creek and landing a trout on a tie I had created from scratch! All things I love to do that go hand in had with the creative side of my brain.
Seeking more knowledge about voice over, I then found another incredible group for training and support: avosjourney.com. If you are interested in voice over, this is an amazing place to start your journey with live classes, coaching, script workouts, and an endless supply of past lessons/learning content to peruse.
One of the hardest things to understand in the voiceover business was that my voice was not as important as the space I recorded my voice in. To ensure I had a space that produced broadcast quality audio required a lot of trial and error, support from audio engineer friends, and many inches of sound treatment with hand-made rockwool panels, and what seemed like a bazillion moving blankets and foam sound panels.
With this website, I hope to share more of my own journey in voice over and maybe even work with some of you reading this! I hope to share my successes (and failures…knowing that it is okay to “Fail Forward”), my work processes, and even share the projects I am working on if they allow.
Currently, I am working on three audio books through ACX as a narrator, specializing in mainly non-fiction at the moment. While voicing these books, I am also actively auditioning for other projects out there through various platforms.
I will also be creating meditation files that can be purchased in the future. I am an active meditator and currently in an internationally renowned meditation teacher certification program in which I hope to bring my skills to possible online/live sessions in addition to creating individual meditation voice overs.
I am currently working on a non-fiction book "Crooked Paths to Creativity -- Journey of a Creative, in which my blog posts (my hope) will become chapters of the book itself, so you can ride along with me as I create more content for the book and learn more about me and my personal journey.
